The Thunder, Perfect Mind Reflection 1: Sent Forth from Power

Listen, in the following passage, to how the Thunder—the Perfect Mind within you—speaks and longs to be known:

I was sent forth from Power,

and I have come to those who contemplate me;

and I have been found among those who seek me.

Look upon me, you who contemplate me,

and you who hear, listen to me.

You who wait for me, take me to yourselves,

and do not banish me from your sight.

And let not your voice hate me,

nor your hearing.

Do not remain ignorant of me,

anywhere or at any time.

We have grown accustomed to considering all things and phenomena that we perceive within the frameworks of space and time. This is only natural, for we live in a world in which everything is temporary and governed by the law of cause and effect. We have sown in the past. We reap the result in the present. And this, in turn, determines how we look towards the future. From the moment of our birth, this perspective on life has been imposed upon us, as though no other way of seeing life were possible.

And now we hear that a wider consciousness—no, a perfect consciousness—is about to address us. It seeks, as it were, to break into our soul, like a flash of lightning that for a moment illuminates the entire firmament of our inner being. The thunder that follows resounds into every corner of the soul.

In this way, a great power reveals itself as Perfect Mind. The Greeks called this power Sophia, which means Wisdom. If we allow her to enter, she will speak to us from a state of perfect consciousness. She will urge us never again to forget her, but to keep remembering her in everything we think, feel and bring about in our daily lives. This is the beginning of an entirely new perspective on life.

She will teach us a Hermetic wisdom: Unity—the One and Indivisible, the origin and root of all things—is present as such in everything. Within the human being, and within everything perceived by the senses, an indivisible essence is present. As human beings, we are capable of learning to see beyond the dual manifestation of all things and, in doing so, to perceive their unity.

Sophia addresses us from a perfect consciousness that encompasses both duality and the revelation of unity within our lives. Perfect Mind illuminates every part of our soul. It reveals where we create separation into pairs of opposites within that which, in its essence, exists eternally undivided.

It may take some getting used to when Sophia begins to speak within you and allows you, as the observer, to merge with that which you observe—when subject and object become one within a new and more expansive consciousness. For Sophia is all-encompassing and reveals herself within us as the observer, as well as within everything we observe.

Where we no longer limit her, she will remove the veils that have formed between our consciousness and the undivided Light of the Creator.
