Mysteries of the Pistis Sophia, reflection 7: Controlling the astral fire

Suppose a soul has reached the point of reincarnating anew. It is in a virginal state, like a blank slate. The workers of the Order of Melchizedek guide this soul through this very delicate process of incarnation. In doing so, the soul is brought into a body and will learn, step by step, to express itself in a body of flesh and blood.

At the moment of incarnation, the soul is connected to an information field in which the essence of all previous incarnations is stored. The soul thus has a single human lifetime to add new information to the enormous amount that already exists. A slight variation on what has already been seen, experienced, and lived through thousands of times. The Gospel of the Pistis Sophia calls this information field: the false spirit.

The false spirit itself is bound to a larger information field managed by forces emanating from the planets. They form a sphere that draws all souls, along with their false spirits, into cycles of development and decay. They steer the fate of man, which is connected to his incarnation. The Gospel of the Pistis Sophia calls this system: the Heimarmene, or the sphere of fate.

The planets, in turn, make movements relative to the fixed stars, which are divided into twelve main influences. It is the eons that bind human consciousness to the laws of life in the world of the four elements: fire, earth, air, and water.
And so we are all incarnated with a destiny according to the laws of the Heimarmene. We all have our own life story, our own demons, and the many struggles in the game of attraction and repulsion of what fate brings us. But we also have something extra: there is something of the mysteries of light connected to our soul at the moment of incarnation. Therefore, we live in the mingling, for both the light wants to lead our soul through life in the form of the light-man, as does the false spirit. A large part of the Gospel of the Pistis Sophia deals with distinguishing these two influences on our lives: that of the light-man within us, born from a spark of the pleroma, and that of the false spirit and fate, which bind us to the forces of the archons.

At the beginning of book four, the Saviour stands with his disciples by the ocean. He then calls upon the Father with a prayer. As a result, the Saviour and the disciples enter an ethereal realm, which is referred to as the Middle Way. Here, the Saviour makes the disciples conscious and teaches them about everything connected to the collective unconscious. The Saviour is now called Aberamentho, and a separation takes place between right and left. Through this, the disciples learn to distinguish the various influences on the soul, particularly the influence of the false spirit, which seeks to keep the soul bound to the fire of the lower astral regions of the earth. If we inwardly contemplate this again within our own soul, the light takes us to our own unconscious and all the fires burning there. Fires connected to egocentric gut consciousness keep our soul bound to the spheres of the earth that result from being separated from the pleroma, the unity. These spheres are designated by the fire of Jaldabaoth, but also by the spheres of the amente, chaos, and outer darkness.

The information field of the false spirit tempts the soul to be careless with the fires of the underworld. Exercising influence, power, taking what is yours, ignoring others, and standing up for one's own opinion are fully accepted in this world. However, life situations arise from this that evoke anger, lust, and hatred, for example.

These egocentric drives subsequently allow the forces of the lower aspects of the planets to enter, which we can come to know by their ancient Greek names. All have their own specific influence. Paraplex stirs up the desire to curse, slander, and gossip. Ariuth stimulates belligerence and its most destructive consequences. Hekate incites man to lies, false statements, and the tendency to possess what does not belong to man. Parhedron Typhon awakens the tendency toward sexual intercourse, lust, adultery, and all the consequences thereof. Jachthanabas allows man to flaunt his feathers like a peacock, the luminous robe of illusion.
And thus, during his life, the imprudent soul becomes bound to the lower astral fires, from which it can no longer free itself. This insight into the workings of the astral fire and how it binds souls is necessary to gain consciousness of one's own state of being. To learn to separate the light from the darkness.
When a person dies, his soul passes into the ethereal sphere of the midst. There are the helpers from the Order of Melchizedek and his receivers of the light. They can bring the soul before the Virgin of Light based on the mysteries of light that the soul found and realized during his life.

The false spirit, however, hands the soul over to the helpers of retribution based on the astral fires with which the imprudent soul has engaged. These helpers take the soul away for three days and show it all the fires that exist and through which the soul must ultimately lose its egocentric drives and be purified before being handed over to the Virgin of Light. To prepare itself for a new incarnation.
And so the soul remains bound to the wheel of fate of the Archons in an endless series of incarnations. Therefore, at the beginning of book 3, Jesus gives his disciples the counsel: ‘Do not cease seeking, day or night, and do not rest until you find the mysteries of the kingdom of light, which will cleanse you and make you into pure light and lead you into the kingdom of light.’

This counsel is followed by a long series of commandments that Jesus asks the disciples to convey to all people. Commandments in the form of:

Tell the people: renounce mercilessness and dishonor, so that you may be worthy of the mysteries of light and be saved from the archons of the outer darkness.
Tell them: renounce encampment and warfare, so that you may be worthy of the mysteries of light and be saved from the raging streams of Jaldabaoth.

We can follow this counsel if we follow the light-person on the middle path. This will then activate a process of change in our soul. The influence of the planets is going to change; they no longer bring their lower influences, but their transformative influences that draw their strength from eternity.
The key to this change lies in our willingness to learn to perceive purely based on the light active within our soul. There is then nothing left that can permanently bind us to the fires of the underworld.

Quote from Pistis Sophia, a journey through the spaces of the Ineffable: Chapter 133 The keys of the mysteries

Maria answered and said: 'For all men that are in the world must all that is determined for them by the heimarmene, whether good, whether evil, whether sin, whether death, whether life, in a word, all that is destined for them by the archons of the heimarmenecome to them?’

The saviour answered and said to Maria: 'Truly I say unto you, all that is destined by destiny for every one, whether all good, or all sin, in a word, all that is destined for them, will come to them.

Therefore now I have brought the keys of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven. Otherwise no flesh in the world would be saved, for without mysteries no one will enter the kingdom of the light, neither a righteous nor a sinner.

Therefore I have brought the keys of the mysteries into the world, that I may save sinners who believe in me and will listen to me. That I may save them from the bonds and the seals of the aeons of the archons and bind them to the seals and garments and ranks of light. So that he whom I will save on the earth from the bonds and the seals of the aeons of the archons will be released in the height from the bonds and seals of the aeons of the archons. And that he, whom I will bind in the world in the seals and the garments and the ranks of the light, may be bound in the kingdom of the light in the ranks of the inheritance of the light.

For the sake of sinners now, I have come down and brought them the mysteries, that I may save them from the aeons of the archons and bind them in the inheritance of the light, not only sinners, but also the righteous. That I may give them the mysteries and they may be taken to the light, for without mysteries they cannot be taken to the light. Therefore now I have not hidden it, but have said it clearly. And I have not excepted sinners, but I have said it clearly and said to all men, sinners and righteous, saying: seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you, for every one that seeks in truth will find, and to him that knocks it will be opened. For I said to all men: you must seek the mysteries of the kingdom of the light, which will purify you and take you into the light.
